The Witcher Season 2 promises more monster hunting.
The first season was a huge success for the streaming service, which, despite being released in December, was one of its biggest shows of 2019. In fact, it’s one of the best shows on Netflix. The season 2 release date under consideration is currently targeted for 2021, though a more specific date remains to be revealed.
When is The Witcher Season 2 be on Netflix?
On November 13, 2019, a month before the season launch, showrunner Lauren S. Hissrich announced the return of the show and main characters for the first time.
I’m really excited to announce: Geralt, Yennefer, and Ciri will be back for more adventures … in the second season.
I couldn’t be prouder of what The Witcher’s incredible cast and crew have accomplished, and I can’t wait for the world to dig deeper and enjoy these stories with us.
There is no set date for when we can expect the season to begin on Netflix. Production on the show is currently stagnant due to the widespread coronavirus epidemic in the entertainment industry, so it may exceed expectations later.
Speaking to IGN
Hissrich considered a release in late 2020, but then changed his mind and explained: “The truth is that [The Witcher] is a very big show and it’s been a long time since Hai and we realized we were breaking into season 1. Much of the post-production process.
“And we want to make sure everyone on our team has the time to do their job and to the best of their ability. So we’re making sure we have plenty of built-in buffer time for Season 2, so we’re not doing anything at the last minute.
