Trevor Marquis Rowe, of Texas, is accused of killing Marion Jester-Montoya, the infant daughter of his girlfriend.
The Man Put The Infant In Backpack
Authorities said that 27-year-old Rowe took Jester-Montoya to his job site, according to sources. He allegedly put Jester-Montoya in a backpack and neglected her on a floorboard of his vehicle while he was out working. The investigators said that the defendant discovered that she got out of the bag at one moment, and he put her back.
The 27-year-old man checked on her again during lunch, and she was still softly crying and breathing, and then he put the backpack into the car trunk, authorities stated.
Investigators said that he finally discovered out right before 5:00 pm that the infant was not breathing. According to the warrant, the 27-year-old contacted 911 and attempted CPR.
Murdered In Jail
As of Thursday, The 27-year-old was kept at the Lubbock County Detention Center. No attorney has been listed for him.
Marion’s paternal grandmother Sheila Montoya said that they had registered complaints with Child Protective Services about Rowe before. The police said that they are investigating this, and also validated the previous contact with the family.
Marion Jester-Montoya’s parents had shared custody over the infant.
Father Emilio Montoya said that “We talked. We sent images. We did the right thing that I could do lawfully, but what occurs when the one system that can help you out, chooses just to neglect you and write you off.”
According to Lubbock County records, the 27-year-old faces a count each of capital murder of a victim under ten years of age and driving a motor vehicle without a license plate.
