Guardians Of The Galaxy films have been my favorite part of Marvel’s Cinematic Universe since Peter Quill turned on his Walkman and started spinning around Morag’s floor. Thor’s story, however, has been quite exciting from Thor: Ragnarok, and also I can’t wait to see where the person goes in Thor: Love and Thunder. Watching Thor travel from Earth with the Guardians Of The Galaxy at Avenger: Endgame was incredibly exciting.
But, it does not seem that these characters spend a lot of time together in their next film.
Thor: Love And Thunder Is Not The Part Of The Guardians Of The Galaxy
Supposing that Thor: Love and Thunder are not part of the Guardians of the Galaxy, and every indication is that they don’t, there is only too much else in store to do so, then opening the cinema would need to clarify how Thor was separated from them–albeit briefly–to link the points between the end of one movie and the start of the next one. Like Thor at the beginning of Ragnarok, he talks to a corpse to explain what he was until the end of Avengers: Age of Ultron.
What I suggest is an opening scene that involves the actors from the Guardians, something that could happen. Thor can drop back at New Asgard, and after they’ve had some adventures together, he’ll have to go back to Earth somehow to run again to Jane Foster. Or maybe they’re in an alien world. Nonetheless, we know what they’ve been since the end of the match and why Thor now wants to go his own way. The camera follows Thor and the Guardians go away for unknown parts.
The same sequence that Thor: Love and Thunder open Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, the only difference is that the camera follows the guardians instead of Thor, where Thor and the Guardians part company. The theory is that the two stories take place in different areas of the world, more or less simultaneously.
Will Thor Be A Part Of Guardians Of Galaxy Vol. 3?
In reality, we were fooled with the ending, but we won’t know what happened to them all until we see the film. Since Marvel’s first Marvel slot after Thor: Love and Thunder’s release is scheduled for February 2022, we can at least conceivably see that movie next.
We definitely would not want to wait too long to pay off this imaginary series of post-credits, but Marvel has two open slots in 2022, and either of them would work for that.
