2020 has been a tough year for almost everybody, everybody is in a lockdown, working from home but what about the people who’s job doesn’t satisfy the comforts of their house, the actors, the crew, directors they are bound to work on a set amongst people these are the people that have suffered the most.
So, let us talk about the delay of Ghostbuster’s Afterlife and the huge impact the coronavirus pandemic has caused to the entire world.
GHOSTBUSTERS AFTERLIFE PUSHED FOR A 2021 RELEASE
Sony Pictures is one of the big studious that have to deal with the huge loss due to their movies not being release in 2020, Sony has officially pushed forward the release of Morbius, Ghostbusters: Afterlife, and Peter Rabbit 2: The Runaway.
Ghostbusters: Afterlife is a sequel to the original Ghostbusters movies, it was set for a from July 10th, 2020 but now has been moved to a March 5th, 2021, the movie directed by Jason Reitman.
Sony has also moved Morbius from July 31st, 2020 to March 19th, 2021, and Peter Rabbit 2, from August 7th, 2020 to January 15th, 2021.
This means that all the Sony Picture movies that were scheduled for a 2020 release will be out in 2021 which has now caused a major shift in the timeline for the movies planned for 2021.
Sony’s decision has come in sync to all other studious Disney had to release alot of their movies on Disney+ rather than waiting for theaters, Marvel Studious has also pushed all their movies till the end of 2020 or for 2021.
Marvel Studious Wonder Women 1984 has been shifted for an August 2020 release let us hope that things are in a better shape till then or else the movie will face another major delay.
