The audience first got that Palpatine would present a part of the coming movie while its first teaser introduced previous April, but it was not till The Rise of Skywalker landed in multiplexes that we got the full range of his involvement, along with how much he had been drawing the series behind the scenes during the whole sequel trilogy.

Kylo Ren faced a still-living Palpatine on the remote planet of Exegol

Early on in the movie, Kylo Ren faced a still-living Palpatine on the distant planet of Exegol, as the villain told that he had been putting ideas in Kylo’s head for years.

Specify the many mystical forces at play in the franchise, the figures themselves were not too disturbed by Palpatine’s presence. Yet, viewers were left hurting our heads at how he could be alive, as we apparently noticed him depart in 1983’s Star Wars: Return of the Jedi.

When the complete version of the movie deliberately put things obscure, one of the movie’s editors, Maryann Brandon, authenticated that the movie’s opening scenes originally added more explanation.

Brandon shared, ‘It was kind of a flimsy balance and went back and forth a lot about how much we desired to share.’

‘Some scenes developed quite a bit, the way that we needed to grant it to the public. In the end, we ended up showing a lot less of it than we began with.’

The Filmmaking of the Movie

The movie’s creation and special make-up effects artistic director Neal Scanlan, on the other hand, alleged that there were only insignificant variations between what was shot and what was shown in multiplexes.

Scanlan admitted to a source, ‘I don’t think there’s anything you haven’t really seen.’

‘J.J. would always shoot exceptions on scenes — that’s the original moviemaking process. But to my experience, there’s no alternative version [of Palpatine’s story]. We alter camera angles, and we change lighting, maybe there’s a dialogue difference. It’s just naturally what we do.’

Despite Palpatine’s trajectory in the movie, fans of the show will undoubtedly relish viewing this official look at the villain in all his ugly glory. Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker is in multiplexes now.
