Last Sunday, Baptist church congregants in North Carolina reportedly stopped a man who they state tried to force his way inside throughout services.
‘He was moving back in his pants, and I just felt like he had a rifle or harmful purpose, and at that point, I knew I could not let him back inside,’ Macedonia Free Will Baptist Church member Kevin Toler stated.
The suspect used a taser
According to a report which is obtained by the sources, Toler and another church member took the suspect who is known as Christopher Bennett, to the ground in the occurrence captured on CCTV footage outside of Vanceboro, north carolin.
According to a report where it shows that Bennett was arrested by Craven County officers who used a taser on him. According to the authorities, he continued to be combative and appeared to be under the power of narcotics.
The suspect had attacked a family member
The suspect had assaulted a family member before the incident, which happened at the church, the officials stated. The woman revealed to the police officers that Bennett was on crystal meth at the moment, according to a report.
A source reported that the suspect was charged with trespassing, disruptive conduct, and other charges.
The incident took place just a week after a White Settlement, Texas, church member killed and shot a gunman who came into the building and killed two people, according to a source.
