The first season of Black Summer was released on Netflix on April 11, 2019. Karl Schaefer and John Hyams create the show. The show is placed in the same universe of Z-Nation, the show has branded a prequel to the beloved crazed zombie series, but it’s more of a pure successor than anything else.
The filming for Black Summer season 2 is set to begin this year. According to the media source, the shooting of the show is once again taking place in Calgary, Canada, with filming programmed to begin on January 6, 2020, and end on February 4, 2020. Karl Schaefer confirmed the shooting location of season 2 on Twitter in late November.
Here’s what we know about season 2 of the show so far:
The release date of season 2 will follow the same time as season 1 of the show. Filming of the first season began in July 2018 and concluded by the end of September 2018. Given filming of season 2 of the show ends in February 2020, we are assuming that the release date of the second season is likely around summer 2020.
Jaime King has already hinted at what viewers can expect if season two of the show is confirmed. During an interview, she said that “What I can tease is that whatever you believe is going to happen, will not happen. It will always hold the viewers on your toes.”
Comes back to like natural human characteristics. Like, is the person egotistical? Do they have some secret purpose? What is in each personality’s base psychology. That is what is so cool about it is that it becomes metaphorical to what life is like.”
Cast Of Season 2
Jaime King will be back as Rose in season 2, and she is also reprising her role as executive producer. Justin Chu Cary will return in season 2 of the show as Spears and Christine Lee as Kyungsun.
John Hyams will also be back in season 2 of the show as sole showrunner. It looks like he is taking solo this time.
These are the only names that have been confirmed for the show at the moment.
