In a show of its strong social responsibility and drive towards community and economic growth, Fifth Third Bank has laid down the start of construction of a new branch in Chicago’s South Side. When construction of the new branch is launched, Fifth Third Bank will ensure that contractors and suppliers who work on the branch’s construction are local so as to foster the development of the area’s economy. During construction phase, alone the bank has calculated that the project will create more than $5 million of economic impact for the local economy.

The construction of Fifth Third’s new South Side branch is also a landmark step in the never-ending campaign to correct the unjust state of affairs in Chicago.
